Man City 'enquire' about Paris Saint-Germain star Marco Verratti and more transfer rumours

Manchester City are said to have asked Paris Saint-Germain about the possibility of landing Marco Verratti this summer.

The Blues are bracing for midfield exits this summer with both Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan linked with moves away. And so Pep Guardiola is thought to be assessing his potential market options with the likes of Alexis Mac Allister and Jude Bellingham touted as supposed targets.

Now, Le Parisien reports that the Premier League champions have made contact with PSG over Verratti. The French giants are said to be open to allowing the 30-year-old Italian leave after 11 seasons with the club.

Verratti has been one of the players subjected to taunts from fans over poor domestic and European cup campaigns with supporters disgruntled over how the club is being run. The player himself is thought to be open to leaving the French capital.

Guardiola is drawing up a list of potential summer targets and Verratti - who has just one assist and no goals in 38 outings - has apparently made the list.

Meanwhile, German newspaper BILD claims that RB Leipzig are ready to discuss a deal for defender Josko Gvardiol. The Croat is reportedly being targeted by City with Aymeric Laporte seemingly set to leave this summer.

Publicly, Leipzig are remaining tough-faced over their player but the report suggests that a bid worth around £85m could be enough to convince them to part ways as the club tries to balance finances.

Gvardiol played both legs of Leipzig’s heavy loss to City in the Champions League last-16, including the 7-0 mauling at the Etihad. The Blues are thought to have been tracking the centre-back for a while, even before his impressive showing at the World Cup.
