Man City duo named in England Under-19s squad ahead of European Championship opener

Manchester City duo Callum Doyle and Liam Delap have been included in the England Under-19s squad for the UEFA Under-19s European Championship in Slovakia.

Doyle, who spent the 2021/22 campaign on loan at Sunderland, played a key role in helping the Three Lions reach the tournament, while Delap also made two appearances, and they will now be hoping to help Ian Foster's side in pursuit of glory. The tournament got under way on Saturday and England play their first match on Sunday evening against Austria.

Doyle, who helped Sunderland earn promotion via the League One play-off final last term, has earned nine caps for the Under-19s to date, five of which came during the Three Lions' qualifying campaign. He started four times, helping England beat Sweden, the Republic of Ireland and Portugal, while also starting a goalless draw with Switzerland.
