Man City captain Kyle Walker and Fluminense star clash after Club World Cup final whistle

Manchester City captain Kyle Walker and Fluminense defender Felipe Melo had a heated argument shortly after the end of the Blues' Club World Cup triumph in Saudi Arabia.

The final whistle had blown in Jeddah to start City's celebrations after their comprehensive 4-0 win saw them crowned world champions. But just seconds after the whistle had blown Walker and Melo became involved in a shoving match.

Walker was pulled away from the flashpoint by his teammates including Jack Grealish, but several players from both sides came together as tensions briefly flared. Thankfully, they calmed down and handshakes were shared as City players began to celebrate their victory.

Walker was then the man with the honour of lifting the FIFA Club World Cup trophy, City's fifth major trophy of 2023 after winning the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and UEFA Super Cup.

City's 4-0 win came courtesy of a Julian Alvarez double and a Phil Foden strike either side of Nino's own goal.

After the match, Foden praised Fluminense, saying: "It was an unbelievable match, I love the way they play with their short passes. They are a great side and they didn't make it easy. The lads showed quality, heart and determination. We're not used to playing in this heat but delighted with the outcome.

"This one is so important for the club, it's the first time we've won it, I'm so delighted for the club."
