Man City and Chelsea lead Premier League chase for talented St Mirren winger starring on loan at Alloa

Manchester City and Chelsea are amongst some of the top English Premier League sides who are on the trail of St Mirren youngster Ethan Sutherland.

The 17-year-old has been a standout while out on loan at Alloa Athletic where the talented winger has helped the Wasps to clinch a place in the League One play-offs. City and Chelsea have both been scouting the teenager regularly and have a string of impressive reports. Rivals Crystal Palace are also watching Sutherland's situation closely.

Palace signed midfielder Dylan Reid from the Buddies for a six figure fee last year and Reid has continued to progress in the Eagles’ development squad. St Mirren’s academy is one of the top in the country and Sutherland is the next one of their conveyor belt. The wide man is highly-rated by Stephen Robinson and still has a year left on his contract. The youngster is expected to return and challenge for a first-team slot at St Mirren next season, although Scott Tanser has held down the main berth on the left-hand side.
