Man City ace Erling Haaland chooses between Kevin De Bruyne, Jude Bellingham and Martin Odegaard

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland provided the best possible answer when asked who he would start, who he'd sell and who he'd bench out of Kevin De Bruyne, Jude Bellingham and Martin Odegaard.

Haaland has played alongside all three of Europe's top players on current form over the last 12 months, having joined De Bruyne's City from Bellingham's Borussia Dortmund side in the summer while featuring regularly for Norway alongside Arsenal talisman Odegaard.

Former teammate Bellingham has gone from strength to strength in Germany after starring for England at the World Cup, captaining the Bundesliga outfit on occasion and leading them to the Champions League knockout stages. Odegaard, meanwhile, has become the leading man for Arsenal as they look to beat City to the Premier League top spot.

But when asked to start just one of the above pair and De Bruyne, it was the Belgian who took top spot.

“That's a difficult question,” Haaland said as he laughed. “Obviously my teammate, I have to keep Kevin. Jude, I think I would get so much money for him right now because he’s so young, so get rid of him and sell him for loads of money. Then Odegaard, my biggest rival at the moment, I have to bench him.”

It should come as no surprise given the City midfielder has laid on eight assists for his striker in all competitions, which is more than anyone else in sky blue.

Unfortunately for the Norwegian, he will be without his favoured partner for Wednesday's Champions League clash at RB Leipzig after De Bruyne was not on the plane that flew to Germany on Tuesday. He and Aymeric Laporte were both omitted from the squad alongside long-time absentee John Stones.
