Man charged after elderly woman, 80, allegedly robbed in street

A man has been charged after an elderly woman was allegedly robbed in the street in Bolton. Police were called to reports that the 80-year-old had been the victim of a robbery on Back Mornington Road in Bolton on June 13.

Greater Manchester Police launched an investigation into the incident. Shane Allen, 33, of no fixed abode, has now been charged with personal robbery.

He has been remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court on Thursday (June 20).
