Man banned from keeping animals after leaving dogs for days in ‘faeces-strewn’ house

A man who left his two dogs in a 'rubbish and faeces-strewn house' has been banned from owning animals for three years.

Peter Bedford, of Brierley Avenue, Whitefield, abandoned his two Staffordshire bull terriers at his home for days leaving them surrounded in broken glass, mouldy faeces and piles of rubbish, a hearing at Manchester Magistrates Court heard.

Police forced entry via a back door that had been barricaded with a mattress and RSPCA Inspector Rachel Whalley and Animal Rescue Officer Jessica Pierce removed Bedford's two underweight dogs Menace and Dorris.

Menace and Dorris were taken to the RSPCA’s Greater
