Man arrested after 'serious crash' shuts major Cardiff road
One man has been arrested following a "serious crash" on a busy Cardiff road. South Wales Police were called to a single-vehicle collision at the junction of Clifton Street and Newport Road shortly after midday on Saturday, May 3.
Newport Road was partially closed while South Wales Police and the Welsh Ambulance Service responded to the incident.
One man was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence and possessing a bladed article in a public place. Inquiries are ongoing to trace another man who left the scene.
No major injuries were reported.
A spokesman for South Wales Police said: "A single-vehicle collision occurred at Clifton Street’s junction with Newport Road just after midday on Saturday. There were no serious injuries.
"One man has been arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence and possessing a bladed article in a public place. Inquiries are ongoing to trace another man who left the scene.
"The road was partially closed following the incident but has since reopened."
