Man arrested after police seize drug scales in microwave

A man in Salford has been arrested on six separate criminal charges, including modern day slavery, after a police raid uncovered suspected Class A drugs, as well as cannabis, amphetamines and piles of cash, all hidden inside his kitchen.

Greater Manchester Police officers, acting on intelligence, executed a morning warrant at an address on Fereday Street, Worsley (February 9). There they found a spoon and a set of scales hidden in a microwave, as well as £5000 in cash and bagged up Class A drugs hidden behind the extractor fan of his oven.

The 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a series of charges after the search of his property. These were suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs, possession with intent to supply class A drugs, and being concerned in the supply of class B drugs, suspicion of modern-day slavery offences, possession of amphetamines, and possession of cannabis.
