Major rail disruption at Cardiff Central train station - live updates
Train lines between Cardiff Central and Barry are blocked this morning causing major disruption across the network in south Wales. Transport for Wales say the problem is "currently under investigation".
The 06:52 Aberdare - Merthyr Tydfil service had to be cancelled at Cardiff Central which has caused knock-on delays and cancellations throughout the morning.
There are reports of disruption on trains coming from Penarth, Grangetown and Cathays, with disruption expected until at least 9am. Notices on the arrivals board at Cardiff Central say all services are currently delayed "by a problem currently under investigation".
A statement from Transport for Wales at 8.30am said: "Due to a problem currently under investigation between Cardiff Central and Barry the line is blocked. Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised.."
National Rail says that disruption is expected until 12.30pm.
