Major fire sends massive plume of smoke over Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan - live
A large fire involving tyres and rubbish has sent a plume of black smoke over Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. Firefighters were alerted to the blaze around 9am on Thursday, June 23.
The fire involves tyres and refuse in the Wenvoe area, South Wales Fire and Rescue have confirmed. An eyewitness said it looked to be coming from the old quarry area.
A spokesperson said: "Crews are currently attending the scene of a large fire involving tyres and refuse in the Pen-y-lan / Wenvoe area of Cardiff Thank you for your calls."
