Major detail wrong in Oleksandr Usyk boast as Tyson Fury issues chilling warning to heavyweight rival

Tyson Fury has promised to "smash up" Oleksandr Usyk in their highly anticipated boxing rematch later this year despite both getting the date wrong.

Back in May, Fury was handed the first professional defeat of his career by the Ukrainian, who claimed the undisputed heavyweight title with a split decision victory in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Two-time world champion Fury immediately activated his rematch clause with Usyk, and a date for the rematch has been set for December 21 in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Gypsy King has been noticeably quiet since the loss nearly five months ago but has now laid down the gauntlet to former undisputed cruiserweight champion Usyk. Via his Instagram, Fury shared a video of Usyk in training ahead of the huge rematch, in which Usyk calls on the Brit to be ready for December 23. In his trademark trash-talking style, Fury has responded by adding a caption to the clip which read: "On 23 (sic) December, you will still be smashed up kid. The question is are you (ready)?"

The winner of the Saudi showdown could be in line to take on the victor of Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois, who do battle for the IBF world title - which was vacated by Usyk - at Wembley Stadium later this month. Joshua has already been beaten twice by Usyk, but has bounced back with four consecutive victories to get himself back into title contention.

Dubois comes into the bout on September 21 in good form having scored impressive knockout wins against Jarrell Miller and Filip Hrgovic in the past nine months. The duo headline a stacked card in front of a record 96,000 fans in London which also includes Scottish light-heavyweight contender Willy Hutchinson and ex featherweight world champion Josh Warrington.
