Maidstone United sign former Reading defender Lexus Beeden from Farnborough
Maidstone United have signed centre-half Lexus Beeden from National League South rivals Farnborough.
Beeden scored against the Stones in a 2-2 draw between the clubs on the final day of last season, having started the campaign at Slough Town.
At 6ft3in, the 25-year-old former Reading man brings presence to the backline and can also fill in at full-back.
He arrives at the Gallagher Stadium after a strong season, ready to deliver for Maidstone.
“I just want to do what I know I can do,” he told Stones TV.
“I want to build off what I did last season.
“I think personally it was a good season.
“I want to kick on and just make the fans happy, get them off their seats, defend for the club and hopefully get promoted.”
Beeden started out at Tooting & Mitcham where his performances led to interest from Leeds and Sunderland before joining the under-19 set-up at Reading in 2019.
He moved to Welling two years later and has also played for Darlington, Herne Bay, Sevenoaks and Carshalton.
