Mahalia launches UK and European tour - and new acts announced for Sound of The City summer series

Summer is fast approaching, and the change in season also ushers in a whole host of music acts announcing new tours.

From multi-platinum singer-songwriter Lauren Spencer Smith to indie sensations Two Door Cinema Club, there's tickets up for grabs to suit every music taste.

We've put together a list of some of the artists and bands hitting the road - you'll have to be quick though, to make sure this summer shapes up to be one to remember.

Summer series

The Sounds of The City concert series kicks off again this summer, at Castlefield Bowl, the outdoor and entertainment venue which has played host to several packed-out gigs over the years.

The 2023 season will include shows from some of the exciting bands and artists mentioned below.

Ahead of their only UK show this year, Porcupine Tree have confirmed that French progressive rock natives Magma will join them as special guests at Manchester’s Castlefield Bowl on Thursday, June 29.

The Lathums, rising stars and recent no.1 album holders, will be performing on Friday, June 30, followed by The Saw Doctors - with support from Damien Dempsey - on Saturday, July 1.

The Grammy-nominated, award-winning multi-platinum singer and songwriter Hozier and his band are gracing the stage at the Castlefield Bowl as part of a huge tour this summer, on Wednesday, July 5.

Next up are Manchester’s own Blossoms, playing a sold-out show on Thursday 6th July, with support from Inspiral Carpets. Also performing a sold-out show are fan favourite Hacienda Classical, with features from Peter Hook, Roger Sanchez and Todd Terry, on Saturday, July 8.

Rounding off the epic Manchester series will be Northern Ireland's Two Door Cinema Club, supported by Sundara Karma and The Royston Club, on Sunday, July
