Magical light trail and electronic performances coming to Sale as part of three-day winter festival

A magical three-day winter festival of music and light is coming to Sale in November - including a festival light trail full of unique illuminations.

Fusing music, projection, light and performance, the ambitious Prism Festival from November 23 to 25 will illuminate Sale town centre. Powered by Waterside Arts, it will feature a range of special performances and shows.

There will also be a Winter Light Trail, from Things That Go On Things, Leeway Creative Production and artist Venessa Scott, featuring an array of originally designed light installations located around the town to discover.

Local children are also being invited to pop-in to a series of creative workshops at Sale Library (October 30, 13.30-5pm) and Limelight in Old Trafford (November 1, 3.30-5pm) with Venessa ahead of the festival to create their very own installations that will feature in the light trail.

Outdoor art and light will also take place in the form of Sentinel, a free show held at Waterside Plaza throughout the festival. The multi-sensory performance of electronic music comes from composer Richard Evans, based on his critically-acclaimed album of the same name. It promises light and projections alongside a pulsating soundtrack of electro-pop.

Surge 360, meanwhile, will be an indoor immersive dance piece from artist Tom Dale. The ticketed performance is described as being a duet between dancer and an animated light, and will run three times on Saturday 25 November. It will feature live vocals from performer Jemima Brown and digital design by Vent Media.
