M62 LIVE: All traffic stopped after crash with air ambulance on scene

All traffic has been stopped on the M62 this afternoon following a police incident.

Emergency services raced to the M62 Eastbound from J24 (Ainley Top) to J25 (Brighouse) at around 3:15pm on Saturday (November 16). All lanes are currently closed and police and paramedics work at the scene.

The exact nature of the incident is not yet clear. There are reports of the air ambulance landing nearby as all traffic is held.

There are also delays of 20 minutes on the M62 Eastbound.

Cars are still stationary on the M62 this evening.

National Highways are now warning of 'severe' delays of 50 minutes in the M62 Westbound.

There is congestion to J26 (Chain Bar), A643 towards Rastrick and routes through Bradley. Routes through Brighouse, Brookfoot, Cleckheaton and Hipperholme are also affected.

Drivers have been warned to plan ahead as National Highways say the motorway is likely to be closed well into the evening.

The #M62 remains closed in both directions between J24 and J25 following a serious collision.

There delays of 60 mins above normal travel time eastbound and over 30 mins westbound.
