M62 and M6 drivers hit by heavy traffic after crashes
Heavy traffic is building on a stretch of the M62 and the M6 this morning after crashes.
Two lanes have been shut on the M6 southbound, between Junction 21A for the M62 and Junction 21 for Warrington, following a crash. Police are on the scene but there are nearly eight miles of queues and 50 minute delays, travel services say.
Three lanes were also closed off this morning on the westbound side of the M62, according to traffic alert service Inrix. They were shut between junction 20 for Rochdale and junction 19 for Heywood.
A car and lorry were reportedly involved in the smash. Traffic was slow up to the closure, which re-opened at around 8am. There are still heavy delays in the area, though.
