M6 live: Huge 45-minute queues after traffic stopped following crash - updates
Drivers are being warned to expect long delays after traffic was stopped on the M6 following a crash this afternoon. All traffic came to a halt at around 2.15pm following a collision on the northbound carriageway near Greater Manchester.
The collision was between junctions 22 and 23. Emergency services have been in attendance.
There are miles of queues with at least 45 minute delays, according to travel services. North West Motorway Police confirmed two vehicles were involved in the collision.

In a post, National Highways said: "Traffic is currently stopped on the #M6 in #GreaterManchester northbound between J22 near #Warrington and J23 near #Haydock due to a collision. Emergency services are in attendance.
"Delays of at least 45 minutes on approach, please allow extra journey time." It's understood one person has suffered serious injuries. North West Ambulance Service has been approached for further details.
