M4 was shut for over four hours after serious crash near Cardiff - live updates
The M4 was shut for nearly five hours following a serious crash near Cardiff. One man has been taken to hospital and is feared to have life changing injuries following the crash at around 2am.
The road reopened at just after 6.30am but there was slow traffic on the motorway throughout the morning rush hour on the M4 eastbound between J32 Coryton and J30 Cardiff Gate following the crash between a Toyota MR2 and a Mercedes goods vehicle.
Traffic Wales had warned that the road was likely to remain closed for some time, and that motorists should avoid the area. It only reopened at just after 6.30am. Traffic monitoring service Inrix said the incident happened from J32 A470 Northern Avenue (Coryton Interchange) to J30 A4232 Pentwyn Link Road (Cardiff Gate).
