M4 crash sees long delays as motorway is shut for emergency services to work at the scene

Emergency services were at the scene of a crash on the M4 near Swansea on Saturday afternoon. It has happened westbound on the M4 between junction 43 Llandarcy and junction 44 Lon Las. The westbound carriageway was blocked for a time but reopened around 12.45pm.

Traffic was directed off at junction 43 with long delays for a time back to the Briton Ferry junction. Pictures from the scene showed police and fire crews at the scene. Traffic cameras also showed very slow traffic in the area, especially around the Llandarcy junction.

There was also a warning of slow traffic eastbound as drivers slowed to look at the crash.
