M4 crash closes two lanes near Cardiff causing long tailbacks and delays
A crash has closed two lanes of the M4 causing long tailbacks and delays. The incident has led to traffic queuing on the road for nearly five miles, with drivers also facing delays of around 25 minutes as emergency services reportedly cut people out of vehicles.
The crash occurred on the M4 westbound between J33 A4232 and M4 J34/ A4119. Lanes one and two of the carriageway have been closed, with congestion back to the A4232 northbound.
The latest update from traffic monitoring system Inrix reads: "Two lanes closed and queueing traffic for 3.8 miles due to accident on M4 Westbound between J33 A4232 (Cardiff West (Cardiff) and M4 J34 / A4119 (Miskin, Vale Of Glamorgan).
"Congestion to around the A4232 northbound. Travel time is around 25 minutes. Lanes one and two (of three) are closed".
