Stephen Kenny includes Jack Taylor in Ireland squad as Chiedoze Ogbene ruled out

Stephen Kenny has selected a 25-man squad for this month's Euro 2024 qualifiers away to Greece and home to Gibraltar, with Peterborough's uncapped Jack Taylor being rewarded for his late-season form with a call-up.

Chiedoze Ogbene misses out through injury. He has been nursing a hamstring problem since the start of May, when he was forced off during Rotherham's win at Middlesbrough.

Alan Browne and Jeff Hendrick are both included after missing last week’s training camp in Bristol due to injury.

Liam Scales and Darragh Lenihan have been recalled, as the Republic of Ireland manager copes without defenders Seamus Coleman and Andrew Omobamidele. Cardiff City forward Callum Robinson also misses out due to a hamsitring injury sustained in April.

Taylor impressed Kenny during last week's training camp in Bristol, reporting for duty in the wake of Peterborough's devastating League One semi-final collapse against Sheffield Wednesday.

He was man-of-the-match in the first leg, which the Posh won 4-0. However they lost the return game 5-1 at Hillsborough and then lost on penalties.

The Boys in Green face Greece on Friday, 16 June in Athens, with Gibraltar visiting Dublin three days later (both games live on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player).

Ireland - who were beaten 1-0 by the French in their group opener back in March - fly to Antalya, Turkey on Monday for a nine-day warm-weather training camp as Kenny looks finetune preparations for that massive clash with the Greeks.

Gus Poyet's side began their qualification campaign with a 3-0 win over Gibraltar before slipping to a 3-0 loss against the Netherlands.

Last autumn they won their UEFA Nations League C2 group ahead of Kosovo, Northern Ireland and Cyprus.

Goalkeepers: Gavin Bazunu (Southampton), Caoimhin
