Luton Town man makes Nottingham Forest demand ahead of crucial week

Luton Town forward Danny Hylton has said that the Hatters will have to roll their sleeves up for the next two games if they wish to finish the season in a play-off position.

Nathan Jones’ team currently sit in fifth place in the Championship table. They were one of the teams who were leapfrogged by Nottingham Forest after the weekend’s results with the Reds moving into third position in the league.

Good Friday’s game between Forest and Luton could therefore be crucial for both side’s hopes of finishing in the top six this season. Steve Cooper’s men travel to Kenilworth Road for the 12:30pm kick-off.

While Forest have almost all week to prepare for that game, Luton have another big game to deal with before. The Hatters travel to take on fourth placed Huddersfield Town tonight (Monday).

Ahead of those two games, Hylton has made a demand of both himself and his teammates. Luton have stuttered slightly in the last couple of weeks, drawing two games in a row against bottom half teams.

“It’s time to roll your sleeves up,” he told LutonToday . "If you want to get in the play-offs, these are the games that you have to go and perform in.

“Both of those teams are trying to get in the play-offs as well, so if you end up in the play-offs at the end of the season it’s because you deserve it. When we came back after the international break there was eight games to go, listen, as much as we would have liked to, we were never going to go and win all eight games.

“We were going to try, but rarely do you win eight on the spin. We’re going to draw games, we’re going to lose games along the way possibly, we’ll try not to, but as long as we keep picking up points and keep winning games, we’ll be alright.”
