Luss boxing star Hannah Rankin vows to reclaim World Title in 2024

Hannah Rankin will begin her quest for a third world title next month in Liverpool, before heading off to the Paris Olympics.

The Luss fighter, 33, has an eight round bout at Grand Central Hall in the diary for April 26 - marking her return to the ring for the first time since controversially losing her WBC super welterweight championship fight against Slovenian Ema Kozin in November.

Hannah’s return will be broadcast live on Boxnation, and is organised by Queensbury Promotions and Warren Boxing Management.

She will then offer her insight from outside the ring at this summer’s Paris Games, as she takes the microphone for the Olympic Broadcasting Service, before turning her attention to a rematch with Kozin later in the year.

Looking ahead, Hannah said: “2024 is already looking better than 2023 was, and having the date for a fight in the diary to work towards is just perfect for me.

“I’ve got this eight rounder in Liverpool. It happens to be the first show back for Boxnation. Back in 2018 I was on there with my bassoon. It’s a nice thing to be going back to, and something a lot of people are looking forward to.

“I wanted to get a fight in before I do commentary for the Olympics.

“It’s worked out perfectly and given me a nice date to work on.

“Then I’ll have a shot at a rematch at the end of the year for the world titles.

“2024 will be my year. I’m really excited to get back in the ring and under the lights.

“But I’m also really excited to get to do some more commentary, especially for something as prestigious as the Olympics.

“My main goal, obviously, is to bring the world titles back to Scotland at the end of the year.”
