Luke Shaw reveals Manchester United target and sends new season warning

Luke Shaw has urged Manchester United to be more consistent in the new Premier League season.

United endured their worst season for decades last term, but that campaign has been now put behind them and Erik ten Hag's tenure has begun. Ten Hag has signed left-back Tyrell Malacia and attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen this summer, with Lisandro Martinez also set to sign for £46million.

The 52-year-old's rebuild at Old Trafford is under way and United will be hoping to secure Champions League football in the new season, which they failed to qualify for last term. United will begin their Premier League season against Brighton on August 7.

Shaw has looked ahead to the new campaign and he's urged his teammates to deliver more consistent performances. The left-back also identified United's opening fixture versus Brighton as something for supporters to look forward to.

"Last season was very disappointing, not just as a team but also individually for me," Shaw told United's in-house media.

"It wasn’t what people expect or what I expect and I think this season is another fresh start. Now it’s time for me to keep consistency and keep higher levels of performance week in, week out which I’ve spoken to the manager about already and that’s what he wants.""I think you need to have an eye on that Brighton match [already] because that’s the most important game that’s coming up.
