David de Gea sends message to new Manchester United signing Lisandro Martinez in Christian Eriksen selfie

David de Gea has sent a greeting to new Manchester United signings Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez, posting a snap of all three of them on social media. Martinez was finally announced as a United player earlier today after he was pictured arriving at Carrington yesterday in a deal that had been all but confirmed for weeks.

Meanwhile, Eriksen was unveiled as a United player on Tuesday after signing a three-year deal. He arrives as a free agent after his Brentford contract expired last month.

Both players missed United's pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia but Eriksen managed to score on his unofficial debut in a behind-closed-doors friendly with Wrexham on Wednesday. He and Martinez - who also played in the friendly - are set to receive their first official outings this weekend.

Ten Hag specifically requested that United play two games in two days a week before their Premier League curtain-raiser against Brighton on August 7. This will likely mean that Martinez will get a chance to play with his teammates publicly against either Atletico Madrid or Rayo Vallecano before the season starts.

The United manager was clearly delighted with his new signing as he heaped praise on the defender. He told the club's in-house media : "He’s a warrior and I think the fans will admire him."

On Wednesday afternoon, De Gea posted a selfie of him Eriksen and Martinez, with the caption: "Look whose in the building. Welcome to @manchesterunited."

This followed his Twitter post earlier in the day.
