Luke Shaw injury hint spotted after Manchester United blame comments

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has been pictured on the grass and training for England as he bids to step up his fitness ahead of Euro 2024.

Shaw has not featured since February after suffering a muscle injury during the 2-1 win over Luton. The 28-year-old tried to return in time for the FA Cup final against Manchester City but did not make it. Despite not playing a minute of first-team football for over three months, Shaw was named in the England squad for the European Championships amid their increasing issues at left-back.

There had been fears over Shaw but Gareth Southgate was willing to risk his fitness, having chosen him as the only recognised left-back in their 26-man camp for Euro 2024. And now, the Three Lions have been handed an even bigger boost with Shaw pictured in full training - five days before their first game against Serbia.

Shaw was spotted training alongside United team-mate Kobbie Mainoo at Ernst-Abbe-Sportfeld, a stadium roughly half an hour from their base hotel in Blankenhain. John Stones and Bukayo Saka were both involved despite picking up injuries in the 1-0 defeat against Iceland on Friday evening.

On Saturday, it emerged that Shaw pointed the blame at United for his near four-month injury absence. He claimed he was asked to play against Luton on February 18 after being forced off with a hamstring injury at Aston Villa the previous week.
