Luke Littler warned he has made ‘biggest mistake yet’ as doubts raised over his advisors

Darts icon Dennis Priestley has told Luke Littler he's wasting his money by forking out for a plush new family home.

Teenage star Littler quickly became a household name on his way to the World Darts Championship final in January and has since proven that it was no fluke. Less than half a year after his headline-grabbing run at Alexandra Palace, the 17-year-old became Premier League champion.

Littler's phenomenal rise has seen him rake in prize money and places him 18th in the PDC order of merit. Those huge windfalls have given Littler and his family the chance to upgrade their two-bed house to a swanky abode in Warrington. However, former world champion Priestley has questioned why Littler is paying an eye-watering £6,000 per month in rent.

"According to reports, he's only renting. If he's only renting it's one of the biggest mistakes he's made and his advisors have made," Priestley told OLBG. "Why rent when you should be putting your money into bricks and water and it being your own house, not paying £6,000 per month to rent a mansion.

"I'm no accountant but hopefully someone has advised Luke. Whether he's been told to rent temporarily to boost his tax return I don't know but I've never seen the benefits of renting when the money Luke is paying each month could be going to a mortgage. If he is renting then it doesn't make sense to me."
