Luke Littler vs Michael van Gerwen LIVE updates from World Darts Championship final
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the 2025 World Darts Championship final.
Darts sensation Luke Littler is bidding for his first world title and will have to get past the three-time champion Michael van Gerwen to lift the Sid Waddell Trophy.
Littler could cap off a superb year with a maiden world championship, having missed out on the 2024 title after losing to Luke Humphries a year ago.
After bursting on the scene at last year's worlds, Littler has proven himself among darts' elite winning the 2024 Grand Slam, Premier League and World Series.
Now, the Warrington native - a big Manchester United fan - has the chance to become the youngest winner of the World Darts Championship at just 17 years old.
You can follow live updates throughout the evening right here.
Coverage on Sky Sports gets underway at 7:30pm but, as usual, there will be preamble to sit through until the darts actually starts. Luckily, there are no predicted running orders with the final as there is no match taking place before it.
That means Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen are expected on the oche at 7:45pm this evening.
17 years of age and out for retribution, Luke Littler arrived into this tournament ranked fourth in the world off the back of an impressive debut campaign. With a bye through the first round, he met Ryan Meikle in his first clash and won 3-1, falling into his parents arms in tears of joy.
Subsequent rounds followed, and supporters noticed a slow nature to his play. Ian White and Ryan Joyce gave him tough contests, though the teen came through as many expected.
It wasn't until the quarter-finals facing good friend 'The Asp', Nathan Aspinall, he kicked into gear and won 5-2. This springboarded him to an emphatic 6-1 semi-final
