Luke Littler set for two-year PDC ban after World Darts Championship heroics

Luke Littler, who has made a name for himself in the world of darts, is expected to be banned from the PDC Development Tour for two years. This comes after his impressive performance at the World Darts Championship final.

Littler's success in the World Darts Championship, where he was the youngest player to reach the final and hit a televised nine-darter at the Bahrain Masters, has earned him significant prize money. However, this means he will not be able to defend several junior titles he won last year due to PDC rules.

Matthew Edgar, a former tour card holder, has said that Littler will be able to defend his World Youth Championship title. He got this information from the PDC after Littler beat Dutch player Gian van Veen in the final last November. In a video on his YouTube channel, Edgar stated: "The darts he's playing, I would dare to say we're never going to see Luke Littler once again playing on that Development Tour. Luke Littler is the World Youth Champion. Can he defend that title? That's the twist in the tale."

Edgar continued: "Yes, he can. I've looked at this, and I did reach out to the PDC in order to get confirmation. They have confirmed that Luke Littler can and will be in a position to defend his World Youth Championship this year."

Since reaching the World Darts Championship final, 17-year-old Littler has become well-known. Last month, he won his first senior title at the Bahrain Masters and is also competing in this year's Premier League tour.
