Luis Suarez stopped Atletico players walking over Man City's crest - Griezmann acted differently
Atletico Madrid take on Manchester City in their Champions League quarter-final first-leg tie at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Atletico go into the game in England as the underdogs.
Diego Simeone’s side have been far from their best this season and are third in La Liga, 12 points being league leaders Real Madrid.
City, meanwhile, are leading the way in the Premier League and go into the game full of confidence.
One Atletico player who has a history of playing against City is Uruguayan legend, Luis Suarez.
Suarez, 35, played against City numerous times during his three-and-a-half season spell with Liverpool.
The Citizens quite famously beat Suarez’s Liverpool to the Premier League title in 2014.
But, despite City having broken his heart in the past, Suarez clearly still holds a lot of respect for the Manchester club.
Atletico trained at the Etihad Stadium on Monday.
Their players were videoed making their way out of the dressing room and onto the pitch.
Suarez was making his way onto the turf alongside Angel Correa and Rodrigo de Paul.
After seeing they were about to step on City’s crest, Suarez quickly stopped his two teammates from doing so and made them walk around it. View the moment below…
