Luis Suarez makes decision on future amid Aston Villa interest

Aston Villa have been linked with a sensational transfer for former Liverpool ace Luis Suarez.

The Atletico Madrid striker is set to leave the Spanish giants this season with his contract coming to an end. Villa have been touted as one possible destination for Uruguay’s all-time top scorer to end his career in European football, as fresh reports claim he has made a decision on his next move.

The Daily Mail claims Suarez wants one more move in Europe before heading to America for an MLS swansong with Barcelona icon Lionel Messi. It comes just months after the 35-year-old admitted he wants to "enjoy" his football in the twilight years of his career.

Having begun his career in European football 16 years ago at Groningen in Holland, Suarez is now looking to sign for his sixth club on the continent after spells at the likes of Ajax, Liverpool and Barca. Suarez has netted nine times this season and has missed just one league game this season, making 27 appearances for Atletico.

A former team-mate of Villa boss Steven Gerrard and a close friend of the Liverpool legend, Suarez could seal a move to Villa Park ahead of the summer by signing a pre-contract agreement. Back in January and according to journalist Gerard Romero, who is based in Barcelona, Suarez turned down multiple offers from Brazil and one from Saudi Arabia 'to focus on the proposal from Villa from his former teammate Gerrard'.
