Luis Palma sends Celtic injury message as winger shares coded response in all smiles snap after Honduras scare

Luis Palma has moved to allay injury fears for Celtic by smiling through the pain with his Honduras doctors.

The emerging fan favourite put Brendan Rodgers on red alert when his national boss Reinaldo Rueda revealed that the winger had picked up a knock after CONCACAF Nations League semi-final action with Mexico after the 23-year-old was called up to represent his country. The Scottish Premiership champions already have something of a bulking injury problem to content with Rueda claiming Palma was in 'discomfort' after a man of the match performance.

Top stars Reo Hatate, Liel Abada and Daizen Maeda are missing from Rodgers' side while star man Kyogo went off in a frightening manner against Aberdeen with a head knock. And Palma, who has been integral to the Hoops early campaign, shared a snap to the Instagram of Jorge Pachecho, the Honduran physiotherapist, showing the wide man alongside the national side's doctors all smiles.

Pacheco shared the post with a Honduras flag emoji, a strength emoji alongside one of a caterpillar. Palma took to his own socials to reshare the post, giving Celtic fans the seemingly positive update they were looking for.

Rueda told Diez after the game with Mexico: “Luis Vega has a discomfort in his shoulder, and there is a small discomfort for Luis Palma. We have those situations."
