Lucas Zhou wins Canada's 1st BMX racing world title

Canadian teenager Lucas Zhou captured the junior men's world title Sunday at the UCI BMX Racing World Championships in Brisbane, Australia, becoming the first Canadian to win a BMX racing world championship.

The British Columbia rider dominated the competition, winning every race from the opening round through the final to claim the gold.

The victory comes one year after Zhou earned bronze in the junior men's event at the 2025 world championships in Copenhagen, Denmark.
