Lowry and Poulter duo stay in touch in New Orleans

Shane Lowry and Ian Poulter lie six strokes behind the leading pair of Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay at the Zurich Classic in New Orleans.

Five off the lead after the opening day fourballs, they struggled on the opening nine in the foursomes on Friday but they rallied again on the back nine.

Lowry/Poulter carded five birdies and one bogey for a 32 on the homeward nine. In the midst of an underwhelming front nine, Lowry did nearly record another hole-in-one, following his famous shot at the 17th in the Players Championship in TPC Sawgrass.
