Lowry and McDowell tied second after strong starts in RBC Heritage

Shane Lowry and Graeme McDowell sit tied-second after carding five-under par rounds of 66 on Thursday at the RBC Heritage in South Carolina.

With roughly half of the field having concluded their opening rounds at the Harbour Town Links, the Irish pair are a cluster of players, including Corey Conners and Patrick Cantlay, on five under, three strokes behind outright leader Cameron Young, who began a stellar 63.

Continuing his strong form from Augusta, Lowry, beginning his round of the 10th, finished his front nine with three consecutive birdies from 16-18. Around the turn, he registered birdies on the 2nd and the 5th to reach five-under par in a blemish free round.
