Love Island's Tommy Fury shut down All Stars return as ITV boss spills all
Love Island's executive producer has spilled that none other than Tommy Fury was approached for the upcoming All Stars 2 series, which gets underway next week.
The reveal comes following the bombshell news that Molly-Mae Hague ended their relationship last August after five years, making the announcement via a heartfelt message she "never thought she'd write." However, as fate would have it, the celebrity pair were spotted sharing a tender moment this New Year's Eve, sparking rumours that love was once again in the air.
In the wake of his split with Molly, The Mirror learned that ITV bosses made moves to lure Tommy back into the fold, eyeing him as an addition to the roster of well-known ex-Islanders returning to the All Stars villa in search of second-chance romance.
When probed about welcoming the dating show's standout contestant back for another stint, executive producer Mike Spence acknowledged that they'd made the call to Tommy. He said: "I don't know if we approached Molly but we do ask everyone who is single. We make the call, invite them to audition and then pick."
Despite being linked previously with an appearance on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, Tommy outright refused to reprise his role in the Love Island villa. Recently snapped getting cosy with Molly Mae, his partner with whom he shares daughter Bambi, it seems any hints of a reality TV comeback are firmly off the table as the couple's romantic reunion takes centre stage, reports the Mirror.
Producer Spence humorously suggested he would welcome the on-off couple back together on the show, saying: "If Molly and Tommy would like to come back here together we'd love them."
He mused about the prospect of the pair arriving at the start of the next
