Jade Thirlwall's famous boyfriend tackled Liam Gallagher over comments – his response was savage

Little Mix singer Jade Thirlwall has told the full story of her “feud” with Oasis songwriter Noel Gallagher, describing the 57-year-old rocker’s reaction to her band’s Brit Awards win as a badge of honour.

After Little Mix had been presented with the Best British Group award in 2021, Gallagher — whose band Oasis had won the same award 25 years earlier – sourly commented: “Little Mix, with the greatest respect, are not in the same league as Oasis. Not even in the same f***ing sport.”

Jade, 32, says she was amused by Gallagher’s response: “I love that I’ve ended up in some sort of tiff with one of the Gallaghers,” she told podcaster Louis Theroux. Nevertheless Jade’s boyfriend, Rizzle Kicks frontman Jordan Stephens, attempted to get an apology from Gallagher when he bumped into him at Glastonbury that same year.

Jade says Jordan was given short shrift when he raised the subject with the rockstar: “He said ‘I'm going to go over and say something’ So I said ‘alright, give it a go. He went over, and he said ‘You were really rude about my girlfriend. Do you want to apologise?’ and [Noel] went: ‘F*** off!’

“I thought ‘You know what? Fair play.’ I just thought it was really funny, you can’t really argue with that.”

Jade says that getting into a row with one of the Gallaghers is a rite of passage for a celebrity. She added: “It’s the same as getting a hate-tweet from Azealia Banks, or hearing Piers Morgan insult you on his YouTube channel." Jade compared collecting celebrity feuds to the “Infinity Stones” of the Marvel’s Avengers franchise.

Noel Gallagher does make a habit of sparking feuds with other celebrities, criticising Prince Harry, James Blunt, Robbie Williams, Dave Grohl and even his own brother.
