Love Island 2023: Who is Ruchee Gurung? Job, age and Instagram

Love Island is back for its summer series with a new batch of hopefuls looking to find their perfect partner in the Majorcan sun.

Among those taking part this year is Ruchee Gurung. The 24-year-old, from Sutton, worked as a beautician ahead of her appearance on the show.

Speaking ahead of Love Island Ruchee explained why she decided to take part in the show. She said: "I’m single and looking for love, and it’s the perfect opportunity for me to find someone. I’m a relationship kind of girl, but so far it’s not worked out for me. So I’m looking forward to hopefully finding the right person in the Villa."

Ruchee said she will bring fun into the village but warned she is quite direct and will speak her mind. She describes her ideal first date as being whisked away to Bora Bora on a private jet.

Describing what gives her the 'ick', she added: "Guys with no ambition. I also get the ick if I see a guy wearing white jeans and red trainers. Another one is super skinny jeans when they look like leggings.

"Fashion is such an important thing for me. If I go on a date and the guy isn’t wearing something I like, I’m going home.

She said her friends and family would describe her as honest, loyal, outgoing and fashionable.

Ruchee has an Instagram account (@rucheewawo) and in the week ahead of Love Island she had 13,700 followers. She has used it to post a number of glamorous snaps from exotic locations including from a recent holiday in Marrakech, Morrocco.
