Love Island 2022: Tommy Fury finding out about Anthony Joshua's loss to Andy Ruiz Jr

It’s that time of the year again; Love Island is coming back to our screens on ITV2.

If you’ve been living under a rock for the past several years, Love Island is a dating reality show where participants enter to find love in a secluded villa in Majorca, Spain.

In the 2019 season, boxer Tommy Fury had found his soulmate Molly Mae in the villa and looked firm favourites to win that season. A shock result saw Amber Grill and Greg O’Shea win the £50,000 cash prize in the finale of a drama-packed season.

Participants who enter the villa have no access to social media or their phones. They are completely isolated from the outside world so that their judgements of finding love can be as genuine as possible.

Latecomer Tom Walker, however, accidentally spilt the beans to his fellow love islanders that Anthony Joshua had lost his fight to Andy Ruiz Jr.

Joshua was stopped in the seventh round by Ruiz, a shock result for many in the boxing community, including Tommy, who couldn’t hide his shock and excitement.

With no surprise, Tommy was starstruck once being told by Walker of the latest news coming out of Madison Square Garden. The announcement came as a huge surprise for Tommy, hearing that fellow British boxer AJ had lost his bout in the ring.
