Oleksandr Usyk is looking in seriously scary shape ahead of Anthony Joshua rematch

Oleksandr Usyk has left fans in awe with his latest training shots ahead of the highly anticipated rematch with Anthony Joshua.

The Ukrainian looks to be in incredible shape as he maintains a gruelling schedule in preparation for the contest against the former two-time unified world heavyweight champion.

Usyk currently reigns supreme after defeating Joshua last year with an impressive and assured points victory, claiming the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO belts.

The sequel to the mammoth first fight was scheduled for May of this year, but Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine caused proceedings to be halted.

The 35-year-old joined fellow Ukrainian boxing figures such as Vasyl Lomachenko and current mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko in joining the country’s military defence.

The rematch is slated for August 20, with boxing promoter Eddie Hearn confirming to talkSPORT that Saudi Arabia is the likely destination for the blockbuster match.

Taking to Instagram to release the images of his training regime, Usyk has attracted heaps of praise for his fearsome demeanour and his herculean build, with the odds now stacked in the favour of the undefeated champion as he looks to condemn Joshua to consecutive losses by his hand.

With the post captioned ‘Working hard…’, fans can certainly see that this is the case with the Ukrainian’s intimidating figure suggesting power is the incentive as he seeks to leave his mark once again.
