Louis Saha makes Manchester derby and Man United top four predictions

Manchester United will have to show concentration, dedication and hard work if they are to beat Manchester City, says their former strike Louis Saha.

And even that may not be enough for United to get one over their neighbours, who remain in just as an incredible run of form as they were when the teams last met in November. On that day at Old Trafford, City only won 2-0 but it should have been more and their opponents were left truly humbled.

That match was the second in a 16-game winning streak for the Blues which only came to an end against Southampton in late January. City have won six of their seven matches since then — with the shock loss to Tottenham the only outlier — by an aggregate score of 18-1. So Ralf Rangnick's side no doubt have an incredibly tough task in store on Sunday.

And Saha believes it will be difficult for United to get a result and has told them they must be at their absolute best to do so. “It’s going to be tough for United, whether they win or not,” he told William Hill.

“You’re playing one of the best squads out there. It’s unbelievable. Whatever changes they make, they still perform. They have amazing talent and confidence, and their manager knows how to upset any opposition. It’s going to be really tough.

“United will have to be at their best otherwise they have absolutely no chance. They’ll need full concentration, full dedication. When I say hard-working, you have to outplay the opposition.

"Any 50/50s you need to win more, you need to outrun your opponent more... If they want to have a chance they have to do more than City.”

Another loss would hit United hard in the race for a Champions League
