Lost the ball 47 times, 0 interceptions: Rangers' three worst players vs Aberdeen

Glasgow Rangers managed to scrape a 1-0 win at Ibrox in the Premiership on Saturday afternoon thanks to a late goal from substitute Kemar Roofe.

It was certainly not pretty at times from the hosts, and The Transfer Tavern have used statistical experts SofaScore to analyse who the three worst performers (to have played ta least 45 minutes) were for Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s team on the day:

Bassey actually tied as Rangers’ second-worst player on Saturday, having been given the same overall rating (6.8).

The defender lost out on five of his duels and never managed to record a single clearance or interception, while he gave away the ball on no fewer than 15 separate occasions, the joint-third most out of any of his team-mates.

Tied with Bassey, Goldson was also given a 6.8 rating for his efforts.

The Englishman lost one duel and made no clearances or interceptions, while his 72% passing accuracy was one of the lowest recorded in Van Bronckhorst’s side. Also, he was guilty of losing the ball 17 times in total, the second-most from the Gers line-up.

With a 6.5 rating, Morelos was ranked as Rangers’ worst player of the afternoon.

The Colombia international was unsuccessful in four of his duels, while he failed to find the target with either of his shots and made no key passes or interceptions, also losing possession 15 times in the process.

Subbed off for Roofe with just over 10 minutes to go in the match, Morelos saw his fellow striker find the back of the net just three minutes later.

In other news, one player has been told he ‘needs to do more’ after losing possession 13 times against Aberdeen
