Shocking: Three Rangers duds lost the ball 42 times and made 0 interceptions vs RB Leipzig

Glasgow Rangers fell to a 1-0 loss in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League tie on Thursday night, thanks to a late goal from Angelino.

It was not the most flattering of performances from the visitors, who gave up most of the ball and recorded just one shot on target in the whole game (SofaScore).

As such, The Transfer Tavern use statistical experts SofaScore to analyse who the three worst performers (to have played ay least 45 minutes) were on the night, with Giovanni van Bronckhorst likely now to be considering their places in the XI ahead of the Old Firm and next week’s second leg…

Admittedly joint with some others in terms of overall rating (6.6), Wright ranks in third-last here as he did not play the full 90 minutes.

The Scotsman recorded no shots on target, interceptions, key passes, crosses or long balls, and was guilty of losing possession on no fewer than 15 separate occasions.

Former Ibrox striker Steven Thompson accused him of being ‘quiet‘, as he was the only Gers starter to record fewer touches than goalkeeper Allan McGregor, highlighting how largely anonymous he was.

Goldson was also given a 6.6 rating, in what was not the best night individually for the central defender.

He lost out on three of his duels in total, and also made no interceptions or tackles, losing possession 13 times and receiving a needless yellow card deep into injury time.

With a 6.1 rating, Lundstram ranked as the Teddy Bears’ worst player on the night.

The former Sheffield United ace lost three duels playing in a centre-back role, while he also made no interceptions, and was dribbled past a team-high three times.

In possession, Lundstram lost the ball 14 times, the fifth-most out of any of his teammates.
