Lordswood skipper Linden Lockhart's century leads side to Kent Cricket League Premier Division win over newly-promoted Minster in opening weekend of the season

A century from captain Linden Lockhart led Lordswood to a 98-run victory over newly-promoted Minster in the Kent Cricket League Premier Division.

Lockhart (111) and Calum MacLeod (85) scored the bulk of Lordswood’s runs in their 265-9 from their 50 overs while Joseph Parry (5-47) and Harry Mawson (3-43) were the pick of the Minster bowlers.

In reply, half-centuries for both openers Chris Piesley (62) and Edward Moore (50) got Minster off to a good start.

But they failed to build on the 94-run opening partnership, with Hugh Scott (3-36), Tom Davis (3-43), Jack Laraman (2-5) and MacLeod (2-37) sharing the workload.

Sandwich dismissed a Sevenoaks Vine side, which included Kent opener Ben Compton, for 144 on their way to a five-wicket success.

Ben Smith got Compton for 18 as he finished with 5-15 from his 10 overs.

In reply, Sandwich were 86-4 at one stage before Rory Smith (21 not out) and David Grant (nine not out) led them to victory. Alex Smith top-scored for Sandwich with 38.

Tunbridge Wells lost by 17 runs to Bickley Park.

Batting first, Bickley Park were indebted to Elliot Hooper’s 78, supported by 32 from wicketkeeper Safwaan Imitiaz, with Ryan O'Beirne (3-40) and Matthew Barker (3-30) taking three wickets apiece.

Michael Waller struck exactly 50 in reply, but that knock ended up being in vain as they came up short.

Krishna Padmanabhan (3-31) and Xavier Darroch (3-42) did the majority of the damage for Bickley Park.

The tightest match of the opening weekend of the season saw Blackheath edge past Beckenham by seven runs.

Johan Malcolm (4-27) helped restrict Blackheath to 141 all out after 45.5 overs while Tanweer Sikandar (34) top-scored for Blackheath.

In reply, a James Fear half-century (72) got Beckenham close but
