Lordswood edge thrilling contest against Bexley in the Kent Cricket League Premier Division while Sandwich, Minster, Hayes and Tunbridge Wells also win

Lordswood beat Bexley by two runs in a thrilling encounter in the Kent Cricket League Premier Division to make it two wins from two.

Batting first, Bradley Goldsack (29) top-scored, backed up by Calum MacLeod and Edward Taylor who got 28 and 26, respectively, while Bexley’s bowlers shared the wickets around.

Matthew Stiddard top-scored with 65 and got Bexley close in reply while wicketkeeper Benjamin Aldred scored 37 but Jack Laraman (3-22) and Tom Davis (3-44) did just enough to see Lordswood to victory as Bexley were 158 all out in the 44th over.

Sandwich also made it two successes from two in the Premier Division, beating Blackheath by 138 runs.

A Zack Fagg ton (125) saw Sandwich to 266 all out in the 49th over.

In reply, Rory Smith led the way with the ball for Sandwich (4-11), supported by Ben Smith (2-28) and Jan Gray (2-29).

Mahi Mahfuzul (51) top-scored for Bexley but they fell well short of the target in the end.

Minster were also victorious as they won at Bickley Park by 14 runs.

There were half-centuries for Edward Moore (54) and Joseph Parry (52 not out) while Harry Mawson struck a 38-ball 34 not out, which included three fours and a six, as they finished 192-6 from 50 overs.

Elliot Hooper (59) got Bickley Park close, although Aron Nijjar (3-13), Mawson (2-24) and Parry (2-26) did enough to get Minster the win.

A high-scoring game was edged by Hayes who beat Sevenoaks Vine by one wicket.

Luke Schlemmer (100) and James Logan (52 not out) saw Sevenoaks Vine, batting first, post 233-5 from their 50 overs.

The Hayes reply got off to a slow start and they were 59-4 but Kent all-rounder Alex Blake (112) got them close before Stuart and Andrew Eddicott got them over the line.

Tunbridge Wells claimed a 56-run success
