Long delays on M60 as lanes closed after accident

Drivers are facing long delays on the M60 this afternoon following an accident, with several lanes closed.

Two of five lanes are currently closed on the M62 Eastbound at J19 A6046 Middleton Road (Heywood). There is congestion to J14 (East Lancs Road) on the M60.

Long queues are forming, with current delays estimated at around 30 minutes.

According to Inrix all lanes are also now open on the eastbound M62. Lanes four and five approaching the exit slip road were closed near junction 19 for Heywood.

According to Traffic England there are now just 'minor delays' of around 10 minutes in the area

Traffic service Inrix say that traffic cameras show traffic is 'flowing in all lanes' on the clockwise side of the M60.'

That follows a collision between junction 8 (Carrington) and junction 9 (Trafford Park)

All lanes have now been reopened on the M60 Long delays remain.

Delays can be seen in the map below. The black line represents stationary traffic, and the red slow moving traffic.

Two lanes remain closed on the M60 Eastbound this afternoon with large queues still building.

Delays on the M60 this afternoon are expected to last hours, with National Highways predicting drivers could be sat in queues until around 5:30pm.

Severe delays are now being reported on the M60 with delays of one hour 15 minutes. Congestion to J10 (Trafford Centre).
