Lollipop Chainsaw Remake Announced

We now have confirmation that Lollipop Chainsaw will get a complete remake in 2023 after a tease last month.

The game will release globally next year, according to publisher Dragami Games, which is run by original game producer Yoshimi Yasuda. An official title or platform details have not yet been revealed. It will be created by a team made up of both new developers from Dragami Games and members of the original development team, including producer Yasuda.

Although Yasuda indicated that the remake will have a few significant differences, the game will attempt to emulate the original. The new game will have a more realistic approach to graphics because of the capabilities of new-gen hardware. 

The announcement that the remake’s soundtrack, save from a few licensed tracks, will feature entirely new music rather than the first game’s 16 licensed tunes will be less well-received by fans. This is because of music licensing concerns.

Yasuda hinted on Twitter last month at the celebration of the game’s 10th anniversary that “Lollipop Chainsaw is back.” He also said that rather than the game’s original developer, Grasshopper Manufacture, the new game would come from the newly established game firm, Dragami Games, of which he serves as the president and CEO. However, because he was unclear about what this would be, many people believed it to be a sequel.
