Euro 2022: England men's stars send messages of support to Lionesses

England are just hours away from kicking off Euro 2022 at Old Trafford.

The Lionesses will host the European Championships for the first time since 2005 and as they head into the tournament, they are listed as one of the favourites to win.

Ahead of the opening match against Austria tonight, stars from the England men’s national team have sent messages of support for Sarina Wiegman’s team.

The official England Twitter account posted a video of Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice of West Ham and Manchester United captain Harry Maguire wishing the Lionesses good luck for Euro 2022.

“I just want to wish you all the best at the Euros, I’m going to be watching and rooting for you,” Saka said.

“I just wanted to wish all of the Lionesses all the best for this year’s Euros, all the boys are going to be supporting you, we’re hoping you can bring it home,” Rice echoed.

“We’ve seen you in training recently and you’re looking very good so all the best and we will be supporting.”

Maguire followed up with his well wishes for a “great occasion” for England and reiterated that the Three Lions will be cheering on their female counterparts all the way.
