Lobi play Abia Warriors today as Kwara united host Rangers

Lobi Stars’ week four game against Abia Warriors will hold today instead of the earlier advertised yesterday, the management of the Makurdi-based club has said.

Lobi Stars were expected to host their week four game against Abia Warriors at the Lafia Township Stadium, Nasarawa State, yesterday, the club elected to shift it to today in honour of victims of a deadly robbery attack in Oturkpo, which is the home town of Benue State Deputy Governor, Sam Ode, who is also the chairman of the club.

In a statement signed by the club’s Vice Chairman/Chief Operating Officer, Dominic Iorfa,the club said: “The reason for the postponement is to sympathise with the immediate families, who lost their loved ones in a deadly robbery attack on four banks in Otukpo, Benue State, yesterday.

“Following this ugly incident, the management of Lobi Stars approached the league authorities and requested for a shift in date to mourn with the bereaved.

“Consequently, the league authorities have approved their request and shifted Lobi Stars’ encounter against visiting Abia Warriors to October 22. 2023 at the same venue in Lafia, Nasarawa State. Time remains 4.00 p.m.”

On other games slated for today, Kwara United will host Enugu Rangers in Ilorin, Remo Stars will welcome Sporting Lagos, while Akwa United entertain Shooting Stars of Ibadan.
